Cisco to buy design consulting firm Moto

(AP) -- Cisco Systems is buying Moto Development Group, a private design consulting firm in San Francisco.

Terms were not disclosed.

Cisco said Tuesday that Moto's designers and engineers will boost its own consumer product development capabilities.

Cisco, which develops networking products, also makes consumer items like Flip Video and the Linksys line of modems.

Moto helped develop Cisco's Flip technology.

Moto's 35 or so employees will become part of the consumer products division at Cisco under Jonathan Kaplan.

The deal is expected to close by late July.
