For a story titled "The most distant radio galaxy discovered" the reader would expect to learn how far away the galaxy is. Sigh


They hint at it in the article, as being towards the end of the epoch of reionization. The end of that epoch was ~ 1 billion years after the big bang, so ~ 13 billion light years for the galaxy.

Just had a look at the paper, and z = 5.72 is ~ 0.97 Gyr after the big bang. So, ~ 12.8 billion light years.
