Interesting that the 2002 hole minimum and the current small hole are both near solar maxima. With so few data points this could be coincidence, but I wouldn't bet on an Antarctic ozone recovery unless smaller holes persist to 2014-15.

What's interesting is that this shows what can be accomplished when there is broad agreement to do something about a situation. I recall that in the late 80's early 90's there were a lot of people like ubavontuba, notparker and ryggeson2 who claimed putting limits on CFC's would ruin the world's economy. They were as wrong then as they are now.

What a perfectly idiotic thing to say.

I saw repeated claims made by those denilist Tards that the world would have to abandon refrigeration and that doing so would kill billions of people.

Therefore they concluded the scientists who were doing the research and saying that there was a problem were in fact worse mass murderers than Hitler.

This is where Limbaugh got his term "environazis", and later "feminazis".

The same denialist vermin were involved of course, Idso and family, Limbaugh, OISM, Fred Singer,

Regarding anthropogenic climate change, an excellent demonstration of how things can be made to work:
(1) We caused the problem (yes, we humans cause climate change).

(2) We then fixed it (yes, we can fix it too).

I would be more interested to know what were the precise causes of this recovery. Because although climate change and global warming awareness has increases and hands have been shacked, precise action and legislative measures are still waiting for green, at least to my knowledge.

Montreal protocol.
