They probably have. Shops like these work in places where everyone knows everyone, and people are honest, and most importantly - rich enough to not have the temptation to steal. Basically in gated communities or very small towns full of pensioners and no teenagers or other "persona non grata".
Outside in the real world, it stops working the moment someone figures they can just rob it. A few guys and some large vinyl bags, and it's 1 minute in and out. Cover your face, stuff everything in the bags, walk out the door. The cameras won't help, unless there's someone watching the video constantly.
Another alternative is hobos and drunks crawling in and making it their nest, eating the stuff off the shelves and literally shitting the place until someone comes to boot them out.
